The price of the HomePod Mini and the iMac may have increased recently, depending on where you reside. The company's little smart speaker increased in price from £89 to £99 in the UK, according to The Apple Post, and publications like MacRumors and 9to5Mac have reported a similar increase from €99 to €109 in other European nations like Austria, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
Each pre-built iMac configuration increased in cost by £150 in the UK. While they remained the same in Germany and Ireland, the costs of iMacs increased by €100 for the base model and €110 for the other variants in France.
Finding a pattern in the rises is challenging. The cost of the HomePod Mini increased in New Zealand from NZ$159.00 to NZ$179.00 while remaining unchanged in neighbouring Australia. Since it became accessible in the Netherlands in March 2022, customers there have been paying the "increased" €109 price.
The Verge contacted Apple for comment on the price increases that were taking place in particular regions, but they did not respond right away. The HomePod Mini continues to cost $99 in the US, the same as when it first went on sale.
It's uncommon for Apple to increase the price of already-released gear; normally, the corporation will do so when introducing a new generation, as it does with MacBooks and iPhones. (While it was said on stage that the starting price of the iPhone 14 would be the same as that of its predecessor, this was untrue in the UK and numerous other European nations, many of which are also impacted by the HomePod Mini price rise.)
Though officially this week Apple added temperature and humidity sensing capabilities to its smart speakers, it would be difficult to claim that this justified a price increase considering that the hardware was already included. This feature is also available to HomePod Mini owners who paid €99 on launch day thanks to a software update.
